How It Works

What the Programme Covers

Six modules, taught live and 1-on-1 in the order below. Every module is worked through on your own site, products and markets, so the examples are yours from the first session.

  1. 1

    Why problems come back

Correction, corrective action and preventive action, and what each GFSI scheme and ISO standard means by them.

  2. 2

    Defining the problem

Gathering the facts, building the timeline and writing a problem statement everyone agrees with.

  3. 3

    Root cause tools

5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, is and is not analysis and fault tree analysis, and which tool to use for which problem.

  4. 4

    Writing the CAPA

Actions, owners, dates, the evidence that closes each action and how to present it to a certification body.

  5. 5

Effectiveness, trending and the CAPA register

Checking the fix held, trending nonconformities and complaints, and feeding the results into management review.

  6. 6

A live CAPA from your own site

One real finding, complaint or deviation taken from problem statement to effectiveness check.
